Which map is your favorite?

Based on the famous horror movie from 1974, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is an asymmetrical horror game where you play as college-aged victims searching for their missing friends, or members of a perverse family excited to hunt down their fresh prey. Each game takes place on a unique map that features different escape routes that the victims can utilize and the Family must guard to prevent any escapes.

Furthermore, each game also occurs during a different time of day, masking the entire map in midnight shadows or bright lights from the sunrise which will also affect how victims can utilize stealth to escape. If you are wondering which maps are the best for both victims and the Family, then familiarize yourself with the list below.

The Family House is perhaps the most unique map in the game because it features massive expanses of open space that offer little to no cover. Specifically, this map consists of the Family's isolated country house, which also contains all the spawn points for important items like the fuse or the valve. Outside the house, most of the exterior is made up of empty fields that will require you to expend a massive amount of stamina to either escape or kill victims.

Overall, this map is slightly skewed towards the Family, as most of the escapes from the basement lead right up into the house, which is a very cramped and dangerous location. If you are playing as the Family on this map, we recommend utilizing the Cook and the Hitchhiker, as you will be able to completely lock down the interior with locks and bone traps. This will cause victims to escape from the basement and land themselves directly in the center of a fully controlled area.

Overall, the Family House map is certainly enjoyable when playing as a member of the Family, but you may see Victims quitting the game before you even make it through the loading screen.

While the isolated Family House may favor its owners, the Gas Station is an entirely different story. This complex combination of buildings offers a very easy escape opportunity for victims who have left the basement, as they only have to unlock a metal gate and two wooden doors in the main gas station building to flee onto the road and escape the match.

By using Connie's unlock ability, you can instantly burst through one of these locks, and use her high base proficiency to open the two other doors while your teammates body block for you. With that being said, the Family can still use characters like The Cook to lock down this map, as he can apply up to three extra padlocks onto any door found throughout the area.

We recommend using these extra locks on three out of the four metal gates on the east and west sides of the center of the map. These metal gates lead into both the road exit, and the car battery exit, so keeping them locked down permanently will ensure that the victims have to use the valve or fuse to escape. Finally, while this map certainly favors the victims, it can still be relatively easy to achieve a full massacre while playing as the Family, as long as you work together and utilize voice communication.

Anytime you enter a lobby with the slaughterhouse map in the queue, you'll know you are about to have a fun game, whether you are playing as the Family or a victim. This map features a spacious basement where you will always spawn as a victim, and an exterior area filled with bushes, tight caged pathways, and two different buildings that lead to the generator and car battery exits respectively. If you are playing as a victim, you can either unlock the doors leading into the main slaughterhouse, or the red building on the side of the map if you are planning an escape.

On the other hand, if these areas are locked down and tightly guarded, then you're best searching for the valve or the fuse, as both of these exits are located in the main section of the map and don't require you to unlock extra doors. If you are playing on this map as a member of the Family, then you should make sure that the slaughterhouse and red building remain locked down and free of any survivors. Since these two structures are quite a far distance from each other, you may be completely oblivious to a group of victims escaping if you are too focused on patrolling the basement or the main areas of the map.

As this map is significantly larger than places like the Family House, you will want to consistently level up Grandpa with whatever blood you have collected, as the constant screams will either slow down survivors' progress or reveal their locations. If the two side buildings are not being broken into at all, then you should return to the middle of the map, since chances are the survivors are pursuing an alternative method of escaping.
